Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a committed Data Analyst Intern, with a preference for a end-of-Master’s internship, who is keen to discover and implement new algorithms to help us scale our products.

To be successful, you should have prior knowledge of data analysis and programming, be able to collaborate with team members, be a strategic problem-solver and an inspiring big data visionary.

You’ll be able to work on different types of data (geospatial data, trajectory data…) and use a large variety of tools (BigQuery, Looker, Python, Airflow).

Your Role at Echo

During the six-months internship, you will work closely with a cross-functional team including ML experts, data engineers, data scientists and product managers to deliver valuable products. We believe it’s a great opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of data analysis through providing valuable hands-on experience in applying Data Analyst techniques to business challenges.

For this opportunity, we are looking for an Intern that is enthusiastic in playing with Geo-spatial datasets. You will have the opportunity to work on large datasets from real-world, contributing to the development and deployment of data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:

Minimum requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Analyst, business analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• Data Analysis: Proven ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and extract actionable insights through using strong SQL skills for querying and data extraction.
• Programming Languages: Proficient in Python, especially pandas for data manipulation and analysis.
• Data Visualization: Knowledge in creating interactive and insightful visualizations, using tools like Looker, Tableau or Power BI.
• Problem-solving: Adept in approaching analytical problems and proposing effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, in English.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred experience :

• Comfortable working with the Google Cloud Platform stack or another cloud environment
• Experience with a version control system like GitHub
• Experience with data engineering tools like Airflow
• Experience with spatial-temporal datasets
• Examples of work such as research papers, blog posts, Kaggle, github, etc.
